Holiday markets are our favorite way to knock out gift shopping and support local makers at the same time. Here's every holiday market in Salt Lake City we're watching for 2026, with dates, hours, parking and what makes each one worth going to. Some organizers haven't posted 2026 dates yet; for those, we've listed last year's schedule and will update this page when they announce.

The big ones (2026 dates confirmed)
Christkindlmarkt SLC
When: Dec 2–5, 2026, 11am–8pm daily.
Where: This Is The Place Heritage Park, 2601 E Sunnyside Ave.
Cost: Free admission, no tickets.
Salt Lake's German-style Christmas market: glühwein, bratwurst, handmade ornaments and a genuinely festive crowd. Don't miss the Lantern Parade (Thursday, Dec 3, 6pm), the St. Nikolaus Parade (Friday, Dec 4, 6pm) and the live nativity (Wednesday and Saturday at 6pm). Parking: there's limited prepaid parking on site, or use the free offsite lots and shuttle. Tip: no pets, and leave the stroller at home because it gets packed.
Festival of Trees
When: Public days Dec 2–5, 2026.
Where: Mountain America Expo Center, 9575 S State St, Sandy.
Cost: Tickets went on sale Nov 1, with early-bird pricing through Black Friday. (Last year was $10 adults, $7 kids 2–11.)
Hundreds of donated, elaborately decorated trees, with proceeds benefiting Primary Children's Hospital. It's part market, part tradition, and a great one for kids.
Red Butte Garden Holiday Open House & Art Fair
When: Dec 5–6, 2026. Garden open 9am–5pm; art fair 10am–5pm.
Where: 300 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City.
Cost: Free garden admission both days.
About 18 local makers plus a glass art show, and it's one of Red Butte's free-admission days. Tip: Saturday traffic up the hill is heavy, so go Sunday morning if you can. The gift shop is 10% off during the event.
Christmas in the Village at Gardner Village
When: Nov 21 – Dec 31, 2026, Monday–Saturday 10am–6pm (closed Sundays).
Where: 1100 W 7800 S, West Jordan.
Cost: Free admission and parking.
Not a pop-up market so much as a whole village of little shops, decorated to the hilt, with an elf scavenger hunt for kids.
Markets we expect back (2026 dates TBA)

Last year the Utah Museum of Fine Arts hosted a free holiday market (with free parking) the first weekend of December at 410 Campus Center Dr.
Downtown Winter Farmers Market
Last season the winter market moved to The Leonardo building (209 E 500 S), Saturdays 10am–2pm from mid-November through April. It's great for local honey, baked goods and gifts.
Holiday market tips
Bring a tote and some cash. Most vendors take cards, but lines move faster with cash.
Go early or go on a weekday. Christkindlmarkt and Red Butte are busiest Saturday afternoon.
Make a day of it. Christkindlmarkt and Candlelight Christmas are both at This Is The Place, and Red Butte is right down the road.
